5 Valuable Lessons We Learned From ?School 2017?

koreaboo -

We’re all a little sad now that “School 2017” is over. Mainly because this means we will no longer be able to see all the adorable actors and actresses, but also because we will no longer be seeing Hyun Tae SWOON (Kim Jung Hyun) being all cutesy with Ra Eun Ho (Kim Sejeong).

These two adorable lovebirds aside, there are actually a lot of valuable lessons that we can take with us now that the series is over.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

1. Friendships are just as valuable as your boyfriend/girlfriend

When Ra Eun Ho first started seeing Hyun Tae Woon, her BFF Sa Rang (Park Se Wan) felt left out. Despite how much Ra Eun Ho cared for Sa Rang, her best friend felt out of the loop and was upset about it. At the end of the day, a friend will be there for you to hear you out when you’re stressed about your boyfriend or girlfriend, so it’s a good idea to make an effort to make them feel important!

2. Life is full of second chances

This whole K-drama is full of second chances and it’s one of the reasons why the drama was so sweet. Song Dae Hwi (Jang Dong Yoon) gives Hong Nam Joo (Seol In Ah) a second chance even after she lied to him about her family situation, and Hyun Tae Woon and Song Dae Hwi got a second chance at being best friends again. Even Sa Rang’s mom got a second chance at having her job back at the school. It’s a nice reminder that life is capable of giving second chances and that it’s ok to mess up sometimes.

3. You’re never too young to make change

What “X” did was not by any means what you would consider acceptable behaviour, but what he stood for was a lot more meaningful than you think. In a school and institution where young voices were not taken seriously, “X” provided a platform for that voice. And when the students found out that X was none other than Hyun Tae Woon, they realized that they could no longer sit back and do nothing and felt motivated to take action.

4. Parents got your back

Life can be stressful, especially when you’re in high school and have the weight of the world on your shoulders. What made Ra Eun Ho’s stressful high school life a little less stressful was her supportive parents. Sure, they got upset at her at times, but at the end of the day, they always had her back. They stuck up for their daughter and believed in her. It’s a blessing to have supportive and loving parents!

Ra Eun Ho’s dad was so special!

5. Never give up on your dreams

Ra Eun Ho had the passion to try and work hard to achieve her dream of being a webtoon artist. She didn’t have the best marks in school, nor the financial income to help her get the resources she needed, but that didn’t stop her from dreaming big. “School 2017” taught us that it’s ok to be passionate about your dreams and not worry about getting disappointed. Having dreams gives us purpose and helps us to get through the days (especially school days). FIGHTING!
